In 1993, Ed joined the boutique underwriting firm, S.D. Cohn & Company. He began his tenure in Sales before moving on to the firm’s trading desk, where he was part of a team that made markets in over thirty NASDAQ issues. During this time, Ed successfully completed his General Securities Principal Examination (Series 24).
In December of 1998, Ed joined Morgan Wilshire Securities, Inc. to head the firm’s Trading Department. Ed oversees the execution of the firm’s customer orders and supervises its principal accounts. In January of 1999, he successfully completed his Equity Trader Examination (Series 55).
As Morgan Wilshire Securities, Inc. expanded into new product lines, Ed took on additional compliance roles for the firm. In May of 1999, he successfully completed his Registered Options Principal Examination (Series 4), and in September of 2002 he obtained his Municipal Securities Principal (Series 53) credential.
Ed passed the Series 27 exam in December of 2006, and took over the critical role of Financial Operations Principal (FinOp) for Morgan Wilshire. This license gave Ed the responsibility of maintaining the firm’s financial books and records and filing its financial reports, including the FOCUS Report.
Ed has been married since 1980 and has raised three children. He prides himself on being very active within his local community. His hobbies include playing the guitar and reading twentieth century murder mysteries.
Ed’s eight Securities Licenses combined with his experience in a wide array of the firm’s business lines make him a valuable member of the Morgan Wilshire Team.
